Context
Stargate is a fully composable cross-chain bridge protocol that removes the need to rely on intermediate tokens, and instead preserves the native tokens being sent between chains. Since launch, Stargate has amassed $350M in TVL (per DefiLlama), supports 15 chains, averages 5M txns/month, and $2.5B volume/month.
LayerZero is an interoperability protocol that connects blockchains (50+ and counting), allowing developers to build seamless omnichain applications, tokens, and experiences. The protocol relies on immutable on-chain endpoints, a configurable Security Stack, and a permissionless set of Executors to transfer censorship-resistant messages between chains.
Definitive’s integration with Stargate introduces multiple automated yield strategies by leveraging Stargate’s bridging pools to maximize yields.

Stargate Bridge Liquidity Strategy
- Strategy Overview: Supply assets to Stargate bridging pools and utilize Definitive’s automation to compound rewards efficiently. These pools are single-sided, and positions are not impacted by impermanent loss
- Assets Supported: WETH, USDC, USDT, DAI
- Chains Supported: Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Polygon, and Optimism
- Source of yield: Yield is generated from bridging fees with additional token incentives sprinkled in (real yield + emissions)
- Estimated Yield: ~5% — 15% APR

Unlike other DeFi yield products, Definitive’s core strength lies in our low-latency monitoring and automation engine. We track specific events that trigger configurable actions tailored to each client’s risk management preference. For Stargate we offer:
- Relative Liquidity: A risk-control feature limiting the percentage of liquidity provided to a protocol pool. Ensures a client never becomes a large percentage of the pool by dynamically scaling position size as protocol usage evolves.
- Liquidity Flight: Definitive monitors large transactions in/out of Stargate on 5+ chains in real-time (see screenshot below). We have a real-time notification that looks for anomalous transaction on any of the chains and can trigger risk management procedures if such a transaction occurs.
